Police given the green light to kill protestors

16 months ago, Constable Simon Harwood of London’s Metropolitan Territorial Support Unit killed Ian Tomlinson at the anti-G20 protests… even though Tomlinson was not a protestor. He was an innocent bystander, passing by the area of the protest to go home and watch football on TV. Yet there is video footage of Constable Harwood shoving him viciously from behind. Tomlinson died minutes later, because of internal bleeding caused by the assault according to 2 separate post mortems.
Yet, 16 months later, the Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service have decided that Harwood will face no disciplinary action. The authorities have decided, yet again, that the police can kill with impunity.
Remember Jean Charles de Menezes? He was the Brazilian electrician shot dead on the London Tube by police officers in the wake of multiple terrorist attacks, even though he had nothing at all to do with those attacks. Well, Tomlinson’s another one – an innocent man brutally killed by police officers. Neither Tomlinson nor Menezes had anything to do with crime, yet both were murdered. By the police. And the officers involved have been told that their actions were legitimate. In other words: the police can kill whoever they like, whether there’s a reason or not.
Take my advice: if you see a police officer anywhere near you, get the hell out of there as quickly as possible. Don’t stop, even if the police tell you to stop. And don’t let the police corner you, as they did Menezes and Tomlinson. Because the police will kill you, even if there are hundreds of witnesses present. Tomlinson’s murder was televised for fuck’s sake! No one is safe so long as these psychopaths are allowed to do what they want. Fucking murderers.
Oh, and before someone tells us that the CPS made their decision because of differences between medical opinions on the cause of death: there were 3 post mortems; 2 of them, including the PM ordered by the Met itself, found that Tomlinson died because of internal bleeding caused by the assault. There’s very little doubt that Tomlinson was murdered. But the CPS and its political masters refuse to put their hired hands on trial for their heinous crimes.

This is a monstrous decision. How can anyone, ever again have any faith in our system of justice? There can be no question but that Keir Starmer must go. He has failed miserably to see beyond the minutiae and detail to the bigger and more important picture. He has failed all of us, each and every individual citizen of this country. Whatever it takes, be it a special Act of Parliament, he must be removed from office and PC Simon Harwood, thug, brute and murderer of Ian Tomlinson must be brought to justice.

  2. Ian Tomlinson who died at the hands of police officer Simon Harwood at the G20 protests in London 2009 has now become one of over 1000 victims of unlawful deaths in UK police custody since the 60’s. He and his family are now victims of the UK judicial system leaving us in no doubt that we now live in a self protecting police state.

Thanks for helping to expose this outrageous injustice to Ian Tomlinson and his family
    “No Justice – No Peace”

  3. Simon Harwood has NOT been told that hi actions were legitmate. Although CPS have decided no further action, the Met Police have suspended him and are conducting an internal disciplinary action, which will likely result in him being dismissed. Check your facts before you spout such biased bullshit.
Also your advice to run away from the police is amazingly stupid as it will give the impression you are guilty of something and you will be chased. If, as a result of this, you get injured who will you blame?? Oh yeah, the police.

    1. Bill,
Be fair, don’t quibble, what clearer message does it send to Harwood when the CPS decide not to prosecute than that his actions were legitimate? Do not expect the man on the Clapham Omnibus to have any truck with your legalese. His impression and opinion is clear.
“Biased bullshit”? After the outrageous deterioration in police behaviour which the British public is experiencing and suffering from every day? You have a nerve to rebuke anyone in such terms. If you’re taking the police’s point of view then STOP! Take two steps back and remember – you are talking to someone who pays your wages, someone you’re obliged to defend before you accuse, someone who knows the police habitually assault innocent citizens, apparently with impunity.
Even today we hear yet more evidence that the TSG is an organised band of psychopaths and trained thugs. At last we’re going to see four of them in the dock.
So please, you’re in no position at all to be quibbling about the criticism. The police must put its house in order. You are our public servants and we demand it!

    2. According to my sources, Harwood has been told he will receive no trouble. This is despite the fact that his actions brought about Tomlinson’s death. I’m certainly not spouting “biased bullshit”. I’ve had a look at statements that say Harwood killed Tomlinson, and others that say Tomlinson’s death could in no way have caused by Harwood. The comments describing the death as wholly avoidable seem to ring true to me. Maybe your life experience tells you the cops are the good guys. Whatever. That’s no reason to call my comments “biased bullshit”. You wanna talk about it, let’s talk. But the nasty remarks then vanishing is just childish. *Talk* to me about your beliefs/experience of this matter.
